Very good looking game, and gameplay. Not only did you do very well in the environments, but the combat, and characters look good! I thought it was funny when the enemies said "I'm going to heal myself" thats when you pop the cool downs.. No heals for you! Great job, keep up the good work!

Simply amazing. Before me I see an amazing game, which I will definitely play the Beta.
One question, do you intend to profit off this in any way, because with the server costs, you'll start getting negative profit?
(I asked that incase you may have to shut such beautiful work down due to financial costs).

Ide like to thank you all on the great comments!,
(the following answer for the future)
question on profit, this is something I’m starting to work out now, My idea would be to first have a open server for free play, but with limited access, and a server which is for gold members, more items, quests and areas.
Also with a store in which will sell "gold" and other items along with player memorabilia, Reason I say gold to first stop gold traders (not that relica will be huge or well known) not getting my hopes up just a option.
But on the score of things me and a few members have things worked out on means of business wise.
I wont be on my own with this one.
If relica were to gain media and public attention which I’m not certain then this will be a exciting moment for not just me but for our forums. It will get us all out of the dark on knowing RCS capabilities.
I wont be doing a disapearing act on the forums and will let you all know from my experiances. (if any)

I wouldn't advise in selling gold in your store, a few games have tried that approach and have crashed and burned because of it. Rather, sell items that people may want to sell for gold. Like... 100 Steel Bars for 2 dollars, players would buy them and sell them for quick ingame profit .
Another note: Out of all the Realmcrafter games I have seen that go online, I have always noticed theres a glitchy walking pattern, not that this would be a issue, but do you plan on resolving this? And on the membership thing, how do you plan on preventing players with non-membership from accessing the members only server? What if someone has membership, then cancels it, how do you plan on getting them from the members server, to the non-members server and taking there members only items out :O
Sorry, I really don't mean to 'rain on your parade', or anything like that :S. Just curious on how you would do these things, because I am pondering how I would do that in means of membership as well. Maybe you have a step up from what I have .

I currently have plans to convert Taz's beta key system into a pay system, but as you well know this is new to me as i did not expect relica to get so big that it may go commercial.
I'm just a single developer, all hard work. BTw the pay monthly would be a second plan, as for the walking issue, I’ve put myself in for fibre optic broad band and recently doing my research on business lines. The computer that the server will be hosted on with be a quad core, 8 gb machine. Walking issues should not be a problem..."but its new to me" its a whole new board game than what I’m used to, the game may not go anyplace and might not work correctly ect, ive got all this to look into and will cause me allot of stress.
I have a good business idea that is coming together with 3 other members of the rc forums. I don’t want to declare who they are until the ball is moving.
This game will be a learning curve for us, to see how well it hits home in the field if anything, I’m not getting my hopes up otherwise I may get all excited for nothing.
I've tried my best its 4 years work, I guess everyone on this forum will learn from my experience, after all you guys are "internet family" and I intended on getting this online for the good of our community so we all can find out the capabilities of RC.
I am nurvous tho guys and willtry my best.
best
Nathan

Looks like you got a pretty good hold on things, as long as Beta is smooth then it should be a good release. I was thinking the same, membership would be too difficult and would require a lot of transfering of players from server to server, would be SOOOO much easier to do a item shop, and you could easily make one in game.

@nathan04,
Just a few suggestions in no specific order:
1. Release the game as open beta with a few well populated zones, dont worry about number of zones - focus on well designed content rich areas i.e. quests, mobs, items ..etc...
1a. provide enough for players to have something to do when they log in.
2. Cultivate a community while the game remains in open beta.
3. Don't spend too much money out of pocket worrying about server hosting fees, server upgrades, without first spending a few months in open beta in order to base stress test and then determine your player base.
4. Once you have started to gain your 'niche' fan base (and if the game content is half as good as the game looks) they will come, and over time you will have a nice 'niche' fan base.
5. remember, we are indi developers our success will take longer than others, so be patient. success takes time!
6. provide a portal (be it via forums or other) to allow players to submit bugs and suggestions (always make bug squashing a priority before adding features/content).
Anyway, good luck and look forward to testing your game
